The recruitment of two Solutions Managers for PolyPeptide
Due to the high demand for IT in the pharmaceutical industry, many companies face challenges in finding qualified candidates. Capax has partnered with PolyPeptide, which operates in France, Belgium, India, Sweden, Switzerland and the US and employs over 1,200 people, to find and attract competent candidates for their IT organization. In the collaboration, Capax and PolyPeptide have succeeded in recruiting two Solution Managers.
PolyPeptide: An exciting challenge
PolyPeptide is one of the world’s largest contract manufacturers of therapeutic peptides for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. As a Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) for peptide and oligonucleotide-based active pharmaceutical ingredients, they contribute to the health of millions of patients worldwide. The company is growing rapidly, with high ambitions and numerous development opportunities. The employees at PolyPeptide contribute to creating active ingredients for various drugs that make a difference in people’s lives and health.
As a Solution Manager at PolyPeptide, you will be part of the ERP & Application Services Team in Global IS/IT, a global organization dedicated to supporting the business from strategy execution to operational delivery. Global IS/IT is implementing a new IS/IT strategy that both elevates the company’s capabilities and contributes to the overall digitalization strategy.
The recruitment process
PolyPeptide is facing a digitalization journey, which makes it particularly interesting for a Solution Manager. Emphasis was placed on making processes easier for production and adapting the enterprise model. All the candidates were familiar with PolyPeptide and their good reputation. Being part of an evolving industry and having the opportunity to contribute from an early stage was appealing to them.
PolyPeptide and Capax worked closely together, with the hiring manager showing strong commitment and accessibility throughout the process to resolve the recruitment as quickly as possible. There were several different elements in the recruitment process that allowed us to close the recruitment quickly with the two strongest candidates. Firstly, the availability of the hiring manager was essential, while we continuously shared our market insights and candidate feedback, ensuring an open dialog with PolyPeptide. From the beginning, we were aligned that we were dealing with a narrow field, where we gave our feedback on how the field could be expanded. The general positive attitude towards PolyPeptide as a workplace was also a key factor, as the candidates saw it as an interesting opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven company in growth and development.
The recruitment process took three months with presentations of candidates who we felt could be a good match for the organization’s needs, strategy, development and culture.
Lessons learned from the recruitment process
Through the recruitment process, Capax sought clarification on essential questions regarding needs and future strategy in order to successfully attract relevant candidates. This also contributed to an increased need to ensure internal alignment between the dependent functions in IT and production at PolyPeptide. The recruitment processes for the two Solution Managers were started simultaneously, where it was possible to find two Solution Managers who can complement each other and the team with their competencies within different business systems, which are essential for PolyPeptide’s digitalization journey.
Capax’s experience and knowledge in recruitment helped PolyPeptide to uncover and investigate critical needs and requirements, which contributed to an efficient and targeted recruitment process.
