About the department
The IT & Automation department is central to Novafos’ digital transformation and technical innovation. The department collaborates closely with the entire organization to ensure that the company’s technical processes and systems are secure, efficient, and future-proof. With approximately 45 employees across four specialized teams, including the SCADA team with 8 experienced members, the department plays a key role in the company’s development. The culture emphasizes collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams and the department.
About the position
Novafos is undergoing an exciting transformation, with a comprehensive upgrade of its automation platform that will unify SCADA systems into a single system. This involves adapting PLCs and electrical panels to support a new automation standard and future-proof operations.
As a Project Manager in IT & Automation, you will have a central role in this digital transformation. You will be responsible for ensuring that SCADA projects meet the highest quality standards, including quality assurance and optimization of tasks, processes, and systems.
In this role, you will handle resource planning and assess whether tasks are best managed internally or externally. You will develop technical proposals and descriptions for tenders, ensuring that collaboration with external suppliers delivers high-quality solutions. Furthermore, you will coordinate projects from tendering to execution and ensure that documentation is always up to date and complies with applicable standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality and optimization of tasks, processes, and systems
- Provide advice and technical support during project phases, from tendering to execution
- Manage resource planning, including evaluating internal vs. external solutions
- Prepare technical proposals and descriptions for tender processes
- Coordinate and manage collaboration with suppliers to ensure high-quality standards
- Maintain and develop documentation for SCADA-related workflows
To succeed in the role, you are expected to have a strong technical background and experience with complex automation projects. Experience in the utility sector or automation firms is an advantage but not a requirement.
